College Courses List

There are a large number of courses that can be studied at college. Colleges offer courses in various fields, including business studies, management studies, creative studies, sport coaching and management, secretarial studies, bookkeeping, child care, events management and computer studies.

Colleges also offer different types of courses and courses at different levels. In South Africa, colleges offer:

  • Further Education and Training (FET) Certificate courses
  • National Certificate Courses
  • National Diploma Courses
  • Short courses
  • Courses accredited by professional bodies – these are often aimed at preparing students for the professional body’s exams
  • Courses developed by a college itself

Some colleges might specialize in a particular field of study, while other colleges offer courses in a wide range of study fields. A college’s course list will give you an indication of the type of studies that it offers. While a course at one college might be very similar to a course offered at another college, it will not necessarily have the same name. You will have to look at the course description if you want to compare courses effectively. It is not possible to compile a list of all the courses that could be studied at college, as there are simply too many different colleges offering too many different courses.

Where to find a list of College Courses:

Each college has its own list of courses that it offers. You can find a course list for a particular college by accessing the relevant college’s website, by looking through a college’s brochures, or by contacting a college directly and requesting a course list or prospectus.
